VOTE! Cher Nominated For Shorty Award

Singing megastar and big screen legend Cher has been nominated for a Shorty Award for her great output on social media.

The Mask actress has been nominated for an Influencer Award, in the Celebrity category,

Other nominees for the same award are Chelsea Handler, Spencer Pratt, Shaquille O'Neal, Kate Hudson, Kylie Jenner, Paris Hilton, Joanne The Scammer, Oprah, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lady Gaga and Chrissy Teigen.

The Shortys state: "Millions of people participate in The Shortys to recognize individuals and organizations producing great content on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram, Vine and the rest of the social web."

About Cher's nomination, the awards institute add, "Diva, icon, legend, star—there’s nothing Cher can’t do or hasn’t already done. As a staple presence in gay culture, Cher has always backed up her loyal fans. These days, it’s mainly on Twitter, where she uses a mix of capital letters and abbreviations to shout her opinions on anything from the legalization of gay marriage in certain states to vehemently opposing anything Donald Trump stands for in this election. She’s got the best emoji use in the Twitter game, that’s for sure. And, in her own words, you can 'Stand & B Counted or Sit & B Nothing.'"

Cher, whose massive list of awards include an Oscar, Grammy, Emmy and three Golden Globes, was pleased about her nomination, quipping:

"Can't believe I'm nominated for a Shorty. I'm 70. Dyslexic. Emoji like a tween and ON PERPETUAL CAP. Vote for me. May be dead next year."

The winner will be announced in April.
