Cher's #WomensMarch Highlights -- From Posing With Madonna & Alicia Keys To Being Photobombed by Jesse Jackson

Global superstar Cher attended the Women's March on Washington rally, "shaking hands, doing interviews [and] taking pictures with the crowd". Here are the Believe singer's highlights -- and one lowlight -- of the event...

Goddess Of Pop Cher chats and poses with Queen Of Pop Madonna

As US Weekly reports: Divas, unite! SiriusXMPolitics shared a photo of Madonna talking to Cher backstage in Washington, D.C., moments before Madonna delivered an expletive-filled performance on stage. Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen reposted the picture on his Instagram account, writing, "Trump brought Madonna and Cher together, so there is that!"

Cher also posed with actress Scarlett Johansson:

...And spoke to Yahoo!...

Cher was photobombed by Jesse Jackson

As the LA Times reports: Cher appeared at the Women's March on Washington to lend her support to the movement sparked by the reaction to Donald Trump's election.

"I want to let people know that I'm here for them and I believe in this movement," she said. "I want people to go away from here and join organizations and keep protesting."

When asked how she as an artist will reflect the change she wants to see in America, she said, "I want to protest. I want to speak up. I want to lend my name. I want to do everything that's possible that I can think of. I'm just so astonished that everybody came."

At that point, an old friend of Cher's stuck his head into the shot and joked that maybe he should open her next show. It was civil rights leader Jesse Jackson.

"We've known each other forever," Cher said with delight.

When Jackson was asked how many Cher concerts he'd been to, he slyly said, "Since I was a kid."

This brought out a big laugh from Cher, who hit Jackson on the chest and teased, "Since you were a kid!"

They both laughed together and then moved off into the crowd.

...And Cher also posed with her son Chaz at the event...

Lowlight: Cher Was Refused Entry To The Stage

Despite being one of the biggest female entertainers of the last 50-plus years, one of the stage crew stopped Cher from making a speech at the rally...

One fan asked Cher as to why she did not talk nor sing on the stage at the rally: Cher replied, "Busy shaking hands, doing interviews, taking pictures with the crowd. I went to talk and introduce Alicia [Keys] and a chick freaked, put her hand up to me and said 'no'."

"Alicia and I had it locked!! We went to walk out on stage and blond chick put up her hand and said no!! I said, 'We want to do this.' She said 'no.'"

During Alicia Keys' introduction, and seconds before the Girl On Fire singer turned around to the audience to begin her speech, Cher could be seen on the stage next to the aforementioned "blond chick" (both circled, white), just feet away from Keys (circled, yellow).

    1. Thank you. Just looked! Woah! That will never happen here. I love Cher. Always have. Always will. And Cher News will always remain a celebration of the caring, amusing, talented, beautiful Cher that we all love. To be honest, I hope that the Cher World creator either stops slamming Cher or that her fans boycott the site.

    2. It is awful on there! It's ever since she blocked him on twitter. He's unblocked now I think, but the twitter page is even worse. Sadly half the people on the website seem to hurl abuse when you try and defend Cher. It's not a great place to go now. This is by far the best Cher site!

  2. The other site is a disaster. The person behind it is a coward and bitter person. Think he should start a site for his own political agenda instead of bashing Cher for her sane beliefs. Glad that chernews is still around. So keep up the good work!
